Natural stones are defined as the combination of different minerals and gel minerals. There is a major role of the earth's crust and mantle in the formation of natural stones.

The classification of natural stone can be done on the basis of the texture of particles included in them. These are different processes which are used for manufacturing natural stones based on their chemical composition. The natural stones can easily categorize into three forms such as:

• Igneous,
• Sedimentary, and
• Metamorphic.

This classification is the result of different chemical properties which natural stone holds.

Natural stones have a great impact on the society. Natural stones play a major role in the technological and cultural advancement. Natural stones are meant to obtain the metal ore content which is the most important factor in human betterment. Different natural stones are used for different purposes like some natural tones are suitable for building construction and some natural stones are used at their best for manufacturing different types of tiles and slabs.

Slate stone is an example of metamorphic rock. It comprises the properties like quick drying, frost resistance, fissile, fine graininess. It is natural stone which is hard and impermeable. Slate stone is available in different sizes which are very widely used in the manufacturing of flags, slabs and tiles.

There are different kinds of finishes in which slate stone is available such as, it is available in non slip surface which can be rubbed plain of finished with clear varnish after fixing. Slate stone is largely used in different types of interior and exterior. Applications of slate stone include roofing, flooring, wall-cladding etc.

Another example of natural stone is granite. Granite is an igneous rock which is formed on the ground and underground as well. The underground formation of granite consists of melted rock which is called magma. When this magma gets trapped in the small pockets and cools down slowly, then granite rock is formed. Granite rock is available in different sizes which are immensely used for manufacturing slabs, tiles and blocks.

Marble is an example of natural stone, which is termed as dolomite or metamorphic rock. This stone has numerous sizes of crystals which are perfect for manufacturing slabs, tiles and blocks. There are different finishes in which marble stone is available such as sand blasted, bush hammered, polished etc.

Natural Stones larger than pebble and smaller than boulder are termed as cobble. These are the fireproof stone which need little maintenance. Cobble stone are available in different standard specifications which are well suitable for pathways, landscaping, and many different types of exterior applications.
